17 Attorneys Selected to the 2022 Edition of New Jersey Super Lawyers

Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC is very pleased to announce that more than half of our bench (seventeen attorneys) have been selected to the 2022 New Jersey Super Lawyers or Rising Stars lists published by Thomson Reuters. Four of our attorneys were further featured by being selected to the Top 100 List and managing partner Adelaide Riggi, Esq. was selected for inclusion into Thomson Reuters’ “Top 50: 2022 Women New Jersey Super Lawyers List”.

The list is generated using a patented selection process involving three basic steps: the creation of the candidate pool using peer nominations; evaluations of candidates by the research department; and peer evaluation by practice area.

Meet the Attorneys being recognized who provide service and direct access to clients throughout all of New Jersey:

Angelo Sarno, Esq.
Angelo Sarno founded the firm of Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC and is a Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. Mr. Sarno has been included on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Super Lawyers list since its inception in 2005. In 2009, 2020 & 2021 he was selected by his peers to be featured on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Super Lawyers 100 Top list of matrimonial lawyers. As an experienced litigator, Mr. Sarno has argued successfully before the Supreme Court of New Jersey, establishing important precedent regarding the enforceability of oral palimony agreements.

Stacey A. Cozewith, Esq.
Stacey A. Cozewith is a partner at Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC who focuses her practice on family law-related matters. She has been with Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC since its inception and has continued to be recognized for her achievements. She is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a matrimonial attorney. Stacey is also a certified mediator for the State of New Jersey and was selected for inclusion on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Super Lawyers list in 2021. Additionally, she was selected for inclusion on Thomson Reuters’ Rising Stars list in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.

Adelaide Riggi, Esq.
Adelaide Riggi, a partner in the firm’s Bridgewater office, devotes her practice exclusively to all aspects of divorce and family law. She joined the firm in 2016, expanding our Somerset County footprint. She is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Law Attorney,and has been selected for inclusion on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Super Lawyers list since 2017. Before that, Adelaide was named for inclusion on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Rising Stars list in 2010, 2013, 2014, and 2015. Adelaide is also the Immediate Past Chair of the Somerset County Bar Foundation, a nonprofit organization that reaches out to the public and the local legal community to offer programs, services, and funding. In 2022, Adelaide Riggi, Esq. was selected for inclusion into Thomson Reuters’ “Top 50: 2022 Women New Jersey Super Lawyers List”.

Michelle A. Wortmann, Esq.
Michelle A. Wortmann is an associate at the firm. She joined Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC in September 2016 and since that time has devoted the entirety of her practice to dealing with all types of family law matters. Michelle was named for inclusion on Thomson Reuter’s Rising Stars list for 2021.

Dennis Shlionsky

Dennis Shlionsky, born, reared, and educated in New Jersey, joined Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC in 2021. A Montclair State and Rutgers Law School graduate, Dennis has spent his entire career representing ordinary people injured through no fault of their own. Dennis was recognized by the Bergen County Bar Association as a Lester Miller Scholar in 2015, and as a Personal Injury Litigation “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2019, 2020, and 2021.

Sarah Sedlack

Sarah Sedlack joined Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC in September 2018 where she dedicates her time and expertise to our family law division. Sarah was included in the second edition of Woodward White’s The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch list in 2022 for the category of Family Law.

Arnaldo J. Pacheco

Arnaldo J. Pacheco joined the Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC as a paralegal in 2017 and as of May 2018 was promoted to Associate. Mr. Pacheco is a Lehigh University graduate. After Lehigh, he went on to law school at the Interamerican University- School of Law in his home state of Puerto Rico, where he earned his J.D. in 2014. During law school, Mr. Pacheco was highly involved in trial court competitions which were a critical part of developing his trial court skills. Coming out of law school he joined one of the top medical malpractice firms in Puerto Rico, focusing his work primarily on the defense of medical malpractice claims against doctors and hospitals.

Charles C. Abut, Esq.
Charles C. Abut is Of Counsel for the firm and a Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. Mr. Abut is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and has made television appearances on ABC, CBS, MSNBC, and CNBC. In addition to his extensive experience in all aspects of matrimonial litigation, he has successfully mediated and arbitrated hundreds of cases. Mr. Abut has been named on Thomson Reuter’s New Jersey Super Lawyers list consecutively since 2005.

Phillip C. Wiskow

Phillip C. Wiskow is the managing partner of Gelman Gelman Wiskow & McCarthy LLC. He has 34 years of experience handling cases involving medical malpractice, products liability, and personal injury. During his career, Phil has successfully litigated more than a dozen cases that resulted in more than $1 million in damages. He has also tried more than 125 jury trials to completion in both the state and federal courts. Phil is licensed in New Jersey and Florida and has tried cases in California and Florida, in addition to New Jersey. Mr. Wiskow joined Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC in July of 2021 with Dennis Shlionsky.

Michael J. Stanton, Esq.
Michael J. Stanton is Of Counsel for the firm and has been included on Thomson Reuter’s New Jersey Super Lawyers list consecutively since 2005. He is a Certified Matrimonial Law Arbitrator by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. In 2010, he was selected by the Family Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association to receive the Saul A. Tischler Award, a prestigious lifetime achievement award, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the practice of family law. In addition, he is trained as a Matrimonial Law Mediator and has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers for over twenty years.
