Partner Paul M. da Costa was recently selected to the New Jersey Law Journal’s 2016 New Leaders of the Bar. This prestigious honor reflects Paul’s legal accomplishments in the field of medical malpractice and personal injury. The New Jersey Law Journal sought nominations for its annual New Leaders of the Bar honors, and it received dozens upon dozens of nominations. Nominated candidates were evaluated by a seven-member judging panel consisting of evaluators from all corners of the legal community and around New Jersey. The title is bestowed annually by the publication on the leading attorneys in the state under the age of 40 whose achievements distinguish them from their peers. Paul is a Certified Civil Trial Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey, and he is the Chair of the firm’s medical malpractice and personal injury department. Some of his recent accomplishments include a $2.6 million settlement in a wrongful death case against the State of New Jersey’s DCPP, formerly known as DYFS, a $1.5 million jury verdict in an ob/gyn medical malpractice case and a $1 million settlement in an orthopedic surgery medical malpractice case. Candidates for the “New Leaders of the Bar” award are evaluated on their leadership qualities, demonstrated litigation or transactional experience, and commitment to pro bono, charitable and community work.
