15 Attorneys Selected to the 2021 Edition of New Jersey Super Lawyers

Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC is very pleased to announce that more than half of our bench (fourteen attorneys) have been selected to the 2021 New Jersey Super Lawyers or Rising Stars lists published by Thomson Reuters. Four of our attorneys were further featured by being selected to the Top 100 List.

The list is generated using a patented selection process involving three basic steps: creation of the candidate pool using peer nominations; evaluations of candidate by the research department; and peer evaluation by practice area.

Meet the Attorneys being recognized who provide service and direct access to clients throughout all of New Jersey:

Angelo Sarno, Esq.
Angelo Sarno founded the firm of Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC, and is a Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. Mr. Sarno has been included on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Super Lawyers list since its inception in 2005. In 2009, 2020 & 2021 he was selected by his peers to be featured on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Super Lawyers 100 Top list of matrimonial lawyers. As an experienced litigator, Mr. Sarno has argued successfully before the Supreme Court of New Jersey, establishing important precedent regarding the enforceability of oral palimony agreements.

Edward S. Snyder, Esq.
Edward S. Snyder is a founding partner of Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC with more than 40 years of experience in matrimonial litigation. He is a recipient of the Saul Tischler Award from the Family Law Section of the New Jersey Bar and has been selected to on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Super Lawyers Top 100 list in 2017 and 2018. Mr. Snyder has argued before the Supreme Court of New Jersey on three occasions, including the seminal case addressing the termination of alimony, Konzelman v. Konzelman, in which he represented the winning side. Mr. Snyder’s has been included on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Super Lawyers list consecutively since its inception in 2005.

Jerry S. D’Aniello, Esq.
Jerry S. D’Aniello is the managing partner of the firm’s Bridgewater office and practices in all aspects of matrimonial law, including mediation and arbitration. He is the immediate past President of the American Academy of Matrimonial lawyers – NJ chapter as well as a Fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Jerry was included on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Rising Stars list from 2006 – 2007 and has been named among New Jersey Super Lawyers list consecutively since 2010. In 2020 & 2021 Jerry was selected for inclusion on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Super Lawyers Top 100 list.

Joseph V. Maceri, Esq.
Joseph V. Maceri is the managing partner of the firm’s Hackensack office and dedicates his practice to all aspects of family law. Joe is a Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey and has been selected for inclusion on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Super Lawyers list since 2017. In 2020 and 2021, Joe was selected for inclusion on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Super Lawyers Top 100 list. Prior to that he was included on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Rising Stars list from 2012 through 2016.

Paul M. da Costa, Esq.
Paul M. da Costa is a partner at Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC, and manages the firm’s medical malpractice/personal injury practice. He is a certified civil trial attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. Paul is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and a Fellow of the prestigious Litigation Counsel of America. Fellowship in the Litigation Counsel of America is by invitation only and is composed of less than one-half of one percent of all American lawyers. He has been included on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Super Lawyer list since 2017. in 2020 and 2021, Paul was also selected for inclusion on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Super Lawyers Top 100 list. In 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016, Mr. da Costa was included on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Rising Stars list.

Salvatore A. Simeone, Esq.
Salvatore A. Simeone joined the firm in 2020 and will be the managing partner of the firm’s Morristown office when it opens later this year. Salvatore A. Simeone focuses his practice entirely in Family Law and is a Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. Mr. Simeone has handled numerous high conflict divorce and custody cases, custodial parent relocation, domestic violence issues, alimony, child support and complex asset valuations as well as all phases of Equitable Distribution. He has been selected for inclusion on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Super Lawyers in 2005 and consecutively since 2007.

Stacey A. Cozewith, Esq.
Stacey A. Cozewith is a partner at Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC who focuses her practice on family law-related matters. She has been with Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC since its inception and has continued to be recognized for her achievements. She is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a matrimonial attorney. Stacey is also a certified mediator for the State of New Jersey and was selected for inclusion on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Super Lawyers list in 2021. Additionally, she was selected for inclusion on Thomson Reuters’ Rising Stars list in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Scott D. Danaher, Esq.
Scott D. Danaher is a partner of Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC based in the Roseland office. Scott has concentrated his entire legal career on divorce and other family law-related matters. Scott has lectured for the Volunteer Lawyers for Justice and volunteers with The Battered Women’s Legal Advocacy Project to represent victims of domestic violence. Scott was selected for inclusion on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Rising Stars list from 2009-2018. This year, Scott was selected for inclusion on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Super Lawyer list 2020-2021.

Adelaide Riggi, Esq.
Adelaide Riggi, a partner in the firm’s Bridgewater office, devotes her practice exclusively to all aspects of divorce and family law. She joined the firm in 2016, expanding our Somerset County footprint. She is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Law Attorney, and has been selected for inclusion on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Super Lawyers list since 2017. Prior to that, Adelaide was named for inclusion on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Rising Stars list in 2010, 2013, 2014 and 2015. Adelaide is also Chair of the Somerset County Bar Foundation, a nonprofit organization that reaches out to the public and local legal community to offer programs, services and funding.

Cynthia A. Walters, Esq.
Cynthia A. Walters joined Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC in 2019. She acts as counsel to the Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury and Product Liability team here at Snyder Sarno D’Aniello Maceri & da Costa LLC. Ms. Walters is a Certified Civil Trial Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. She has dedicated her practice to standing up for those who are not capable of doing so themselves. Her resolve to help others is reflected in multiple successful verdicts and settlements and precedent-setting Federal and State Appellate Court opinions. She has successfully faced down medical and manufacturing giants in both Federal and State courtrooms. Cynthia has been included on Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Super Lawyers list since its inception in 2005.

Michelle A. Wortmann, Esq.
Michelle A. Wortmann is an associate at the firm. She joined Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC in September 2016 and since that time has devoted the entirety of her practice to dealing with all types of family law matters. Michelle was named for inclusion on Thomson Reuter’s Rising Stars list for 2021.

Michael J. Weil, Esq.
Michael J. Weil joined Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC in September 2018 as an associate. Since entering private practice, Michael has focused exclusively on all aspects of family law. Michael served as Membership Chairperson of the Hunterdon County Bar Association and provided pro bono representation through SAFE in Hunterdon to victims of domestic violence. Michael was named for inclusion on Thomson Reuter’s Rising Stars list 2019-2021.

Charles C. Abut, Esq.
Charles C. Abut is Of Counsel for the firm and a Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. Mr. Abut is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial lawyers and has made television appearances on ABC, CBS, MSNBC, and CNBC. In addition to his extensive experience in all aspects of matrimonial litigation, he has successfully mediated and arbitrated hundreds of cases. Mr. Abut has been named on Thomson Reuter’s New Jersey Super Lawyers list consecutively since 2005.

Michael J. Stanton, Esq.
Michael J. Stanton is Of Counsel for the firm and has been included on Thomson Reuter’s New Jersey Super Lawyers list consecutively since 2005. He is a Certified Matrimonial Law Arbitrator by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. In 2010, he was selected by the Family Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association to receive the Saul A. Tischler Award, a prestigious lifetime achievement award, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the practice of family law. In addition, he is trained as a Matrimonial Law Mediator and has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers for over twenty years.
