Partner, Paul da Costa, will be moderating the New Jersey Institute on Continuing Legal Education’s (ICLE) 2025 Medical Malpractice Update seminar. As the head of the medical malpractice and personal injury departments, Mr. da Costa has extensive experience in all types of medical malpractice and complex personal injury cases.
Paul will be moderating the 29th annual presentation of this essential program designed for attorneys who handle medical malpractice cases. This half-day, fast-paced program will deliver the newest cases, proven tactics, and emerging trends in one engaging session—taught by a virtual who’s who of the New Jersey medical malpractice bar. This seminar is trusted each year by attorneys, insurance professionals, and general practitioners.

Paul, the head of the firm’s Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury departments is a certified civil trial attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey, and he is the Chairman of the New Jersey Supreme Court’s Civil Certification Committee. Paul is a member of invite only trial attorney associations, such as the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and the Litigation Counsel of America. As of December 2025, Paul will be the President of the ABOTA North Jersey chapter. Paul also currently serves as the Secretary of the Seton Hall School of Law’s Board of Visitors. He has been selected for inclusion in New Jersey Super Lawyers Top 100 list in the years of 2020-2025. In addition, Mr. da Costa has also been selected for inclusion in Woodward White’s The Best Lawyers in America in 2020-2025 for the fields of Medical Malpractice Law – Plaintiffs and Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs. In 2025, Paul was chosen as the Attorney of the Year for medical malpractice – plaintiffs and personal injury – plaintiffs by Best Lawyers. The National Law Journal selected Paul and his team for its prestigious 2022 Elite Trial Lawyers Awards in the medical malpractice category. The New Jersey Law Journal selected Paul as a finalist for the 2022 New Jersey Legal Awards “Attorney of the Year.” In their profile article, “Paul da Costa Harnesses ‘Immense Power to Cause Change’ as a Trial Litigator,” the New Jersey Law Journal described Paul as a “formidable litigator” and noted that he was selected as a finalist for “his high-impact – and high-profile -work.”
