Overview

Christopher Leon Garibian, Esq. serves as Of Counsel to Sarno Da Costa D’Aniello Maceri & Webb, LLC, where he concentrates his practice exclusively in matrimonial and family law.

For more than 28 years, Christopher has represented clients in all aspects of family law, including divorce, custody and parenting time, alimony and child support, equitable distribution, high-net-worth asset division, grandparents’ rights, adoption, LGBTQIA+ family matters, non-marital parenting issues, guardian ad litem appointments, guardianships for incapacitated individuals, domestic violence proceedings, post-judgment enforcement and modification, termination of support, and related financial matters involving unmarried parents.

Christopher is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Law Attorney — a distinction earned by fewer than one-half of one percent of attorneys in the state — recognizing advanced proficiency, substantial experience, and demonstrated excellence in family law. He has also been selected as a Super Lawyer, an honor bestowed by his peers in recognition of professional achievement and high ethical standards.

In addition to his legal practice, Christopher serves both the profession and the public in numerous capacities. He is a District XA Ethics Committee Investigator and a volunteer Early Settlement Panelist in Morris County. He has provided pro bono assistance through Jersey Battered Women’s Services, helping victims obtain restraining orders and safely navigate the legal system.

Christopher is guided by a simple principle: to help people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. He understands that family law matters are often emotionally overwhelming and life-altering. He approaches each case with empathy, clarity, and strategic focus, providing clients with straightforward, legalese-free guidance so they fully understand their rights, options, and likely outcomes at every stage of the process.

A skilled trial attorney and seasoned negotiator, Christopher develops comprehensive strategies tailored to each client’s goals. While fully prepared to advocate forcefully in court, he carefully evaluates when matters can be resolved through negotiation, mediation, or collaborative approaches that reduce conflict, protect children, and preserve financial stability.

Beyond the courtroom, Christopher is deeply committed to service and leadership. He serves as a Commissioner for the Morristown Parking Authority. He is a hike leader for the Catskill 3500 Club and holds current Wilderness First Aid and CPR-AED certifications, reflecting his commitment to safety, preparedness, and leadership in challenging environments. He volunteers for trail and road cleanup efforts in the Catskills with the Catskill 3500 Club and Hikers Anonymous, and supports the Morristown Meals on Wheels program through the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 1311.

Whether assisting with a single urgent issue or guiding clients through complex, multi-layered disputes, Christopher brings experience, compassion, and unwavering advocacy to every matter. He lives by a simple mantra: action causes reaction — and believes thoughtful, strategic action leads to stability, resolution, and a stronger path forward.

The model was developed with input from hundreds of attorneys, thousands of consumers, and many other legal professionals who deeply understand the work attorneys do. The Avvo Rating reflects the type of information people have identified as important when looking to hire an attorney.
