Overview

John T. Brost, Associate of Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri Webb LLC in the Firm’s Morristown office, has spent his career successfully representing hundreds of accident victims in their personal injury and medical malpractice claims, from intake to resolution by settlement or trial. For nearly a quarter-century, John has focused his practice on personal injury and medical malpractice claims of all types, including motor vehicle accidents, slip- and trip-and-falls, dog bites, assaults/negligent security, negligent supervision, construction site accidents, and medical negligence. He has arbitrated hundreds of personal injury cases in both the New Jersey Superior Court and private arbitrations, has argued innumerable motions in both state and federal court, has appeared before the New Jersey Appellate Division, and has filed numerous successful petitions for certification in the New Jersey Supreme Court.

Starting when he was a young lawyer, John adopted the mantra that each client should be treated like a member of his family, and he has followed this philosophy throughout his career. John has prided himself on forging excellent relationships with all of his clients, with open communication and detailed explanations of each stage of the claim and litigation process.

John received his Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Montclair State University. At Rutgers Law School, John served as the Articles Editor for the Rutgers Computer and Technology Law Journal, and he worked as a judicial intern for The Honorable Renee J. Weeks, J.S.C. John is a member of the New Jersey Association for Justice and the New Jersey State Bar Association. He was named to Best Lawyers in America®, Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs for 2026.

Outside of the office, John is an involved member of his community. Most notably, he has been an active leader in Scouting America (formerly known as the Boy Scouts of America), serving both locally (Cubmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster) and at the District level (Vice Chair and Membership Chair). In recognition of his dedicated service, John was awarded the District Award of Merit, the William D. Boyce Award, and the Cubmaster’s Key.

Originally hailing from Middlesex County, John has resided in Passaic County since 2004 with his wife and sons.
