4 Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri Attorneys to Speak at NJAJ 2017 Meadowlands Seminar

Jerry S. D’Aniello, a partner at Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC, will be moderating three panels at the NJAJ 2017 Meadowlands Seminar for Matrimonial Law on November 16, 2017. Accompanying Jerry at this special event are Angelo Sarno, Edward S. Snyder and Scott D. Danaher, also partners of Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC. 

Jerry will lead the discussion as moderator of a panel, joined by Ed and Scott, on the recent New Jersey Appellate Division case, Slutsky v. Slutsky, in which they represented the defendant ex-husband in a complex divorce matter. In that case, the defendant was an equity partner in a large law firm. The main issue was the valuation and distribution of defendant’s interest in the law firm, including any goodwill. Ed and Scott were successful in the Appellate Division by having the trial judge’s valuation and distribution reversed and remanded to a different trial judge. The ultimate outcome remains to be determined. 

Jerry will be moderating the Slutsky panel in addition to two others: (1) “Relocation and Your Custody Case in Light of Supreme Court Opinion – Bisbing v. Bisbing; and (2) “Psychological Parent – What You Need to Know.” Bisbing was recently decided by the Supreme Court – a case marking a big shift in family law as it relates to custody relocation cases.

The “Psychological Parent” panel Jerry will moderate is also a must watch. The psychological parent refers to a third party who assumes the role of the legal parent. The panel will discuss all you need to know as it relates to psychological parent issues.

Angelo Sarno will also be speaking at this event at 2:30 p.m. on whether New Jersey is truly an equitable distribution state or an equal distribution state. Angelo is the founding and managing partner of the firm and has extensive experience in all aspects of family law.
