Partner, Paul M. da Costa, Testified Before the New Jersey State Legislature on Thursday, August 13th, 2020 on Behalf of His More than 50 Clients from the Menlo Park and Paramus Veterans Homes

On August 13th, Partner,  Paul M. da Costa, testified on behalf of his more than 50 clients, both families of residents and employees, who were the victims of nursing home gross negligence and reckless conduct amidst the COVID-19 pandemic at the Menlo Park and Paramus Veterans Homes. Mr. da Costa had the honor of testifying before a joint session of the New Jersey Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens and the Assembly Aging and Senior Services Committees. The joint session of the Committees addressed pending nursing home reform bills. Paul’s testimony starts at 02:30:30 and the full recording of the meeting can be found here.

While many different aspects of recent month’s events were covered, it was clear that a reformation is needed. The many victims of these tragedies, their families and even staff from the facilities are adamant that protocols were not being adhered to and safety regulations need to be reexamined and enforced.
