We are delighted to announce that the Supreme Court of New Jersey recently designated Partner Stacey A. Cozewith as a Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney! This certification recognizes Stacey’s considerable knowledge, experience, and skill in matrimonial law practice, as well as her irreproachable character.

A certified matrimonial law attorney is not simply an attorney who focuses on a certain area of law. Certification by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a matrimonial law attorney requires the attorney to satisfy five criteria. The attorney must be a member in good standing of the New Jersey bar for more than five years and must have stayed up-to-date with continuing legal education requirements. The attorney must also pass a written exam covering various aspects of matrimonial law practice and demonstrate substantial experience in matrimonial law. Finally, the attorney must receive positive references regarding their ethics, character, and reputation from fellow lawyers and judges who are familiar with the attorney’s work.Becoming a certified attorney is also a rather exceptional distinction. There are approximately 80,000 active lawyers in New Jersey—but only 1,600 (2%) are certified by the Supreme Court in one of five specialty areas. Fewer still, there are less than 150 Certified Matrimonial Attorneys in New Jersey. Stacey joins partners Angelo Sarno, Jerry D’Aniello, and Adelaide Riggi who are also Certified Matrimonial Law Attorneys at the firm.Congratulations, Stacey!
