Partner, Paul M. da Costa, Esq., of Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC testifies in front of New Jersey State Senate in regards to the Adenovirus outbreak at the Wanaque Rehabilitation Center. A public hearing was held by the NJ State Health Committee on the afternoon of Monday, December 3rd 2018. Health officials found 34 infected patients of the Wanaque Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, eleven cases proved fatal.
The hearing, called into question the conditions at the facility, current state standards in medical best practices and the facilities involvement in the outbreak. Mr. da Costa who expertly represented the victims and their families, “several patients and their respective parents who were victims of the Adenovirus outbreak at the Wanaque Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.”
Mr. da Costa went on to testify to NJ Senate, “I come before you today as an effort to give voices to their children that cannot speak for themselves. Children whose lives were dependent on receiving appropriate medical care and treatment from the Wanaque Center. I am also here to speak for the children’s parents that entrusted their beloved children to the Wanaque Center and now feel that their trust was betrayed and violated.” Mr. da Costa called into question the timeline of events that occurred at the Wanaque Center.
