“This is a prime example of a surgeon needlessly endangering the safety and well-being of a patient,” plaintiff’s counsel Paul da Costa of Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri said.

A $3.65 million settlement was reached for a Roseland woman after a surgical procedure allegedly went wrong and caused her serious injury, including the need to use a colostomy bag for a year.

“This case is one of the most egregious examples of medical malpractice that I have seen in my 20 years doing medical malpractice,” da Costa said. “This is a prime example of a surgeon needlessly endangering the safety and well-being of a patient. My client is an exceptional person and made a fantastic witness, so she is extremely well-deserving of the settlement.”
