Paul M. da Costa Quoted in NorthJersey.com Article, “‘’Multilevel leadership failure’ fueled COVID deaths at NJ veterans homes, feds say.”
Paul M. da Costa, Partner and chair of Sarno da Costa D’Aniello Maceri LLC’s Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury department was quoted in the NorthJersey.com article, “‘’Multilevel leadership failure’ fueled COVID deaths at NJ veterans homes, feds say.” The article discusses the problems both homes had with infection control before, during and after the pandemic.
“The scathing Justice Department report released last week into the failures at the state-run Paramus and Menlo Park veterans homes where 200 residents died from COVID corroborated much of what NorthJersey.com has reported over three years.
Paul da Costa, a lawyer who represented dozens of victims’ families and staffers in litigation against DMAVA, said the report confirms that “monumental change” is still needed. “This report is astounding in that it makes clear once and for all that very little, if any, lessons were learned by the individuals responsible for running the homes,” he said.”
