December 29, 2025, Roseland, NJ — The Firm is proud to announce Paul M. da Costa, Esq. was sworn in as President of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) Northern New Jersey Chapter on December 10, 2025. As an invitation-only national organization since 1958, ABOTA fights to preserve and protect the Seventh Amendment right of Americans as stated in the United States Constitution. ABOTA has over 7,000 lawyer members (equally balanced between plaintiff and defense) and judges spread among 95 chapters in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Paul is the head of the Firm’s Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury Departments.  He is a certified civil trial attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey, and he is the current Chair of the New Jersey Supreme Court’s Civil Trial Certification Committee.

Paul was previously selected as a finalist for the Attorney of the Year award by The New Jersey Law Journal who describes Mr. da Costa as an attorney who “harnesses immense power to cause change as a trial litigator.”  In 2024 and 2025, Paul was chosen for inclusion in NJBIZ’s Law Power 50 List, and NJBIZ’s profile noted that he is “widely recognized as one of the most respected and feared trial attorneys in the state.”
